I live in fear every single day of my life, a fear that is shared by millions of women and children around the world. Domestic violence is an epidemic that affects 1 in 3 women during their lifetime according to the World Health Organization. This means that every single day, countless individuals are living with the same fear that I do.

Children are not spared from this horror either. Approximately 275 million children worldwide are exposed to violence at home (UNICEF), a reality no child should ever have to face. We cannot continue to ignore these alarming statistics; we must take action now.

It's time for us as a society to say enough is enough. We need stricter laws against domestic violence offenders, more resources for victims such as safe houses and counseling services, and education programs to raise awareness about this issue.

We owe it not only to those currently suffering but also future generations who deserve a world free from such fear and pain. It's time for change – it's time we end domestic violence against women and children once and for all.
