End Discrimination Against Native Dogs; Aspins Deserve Love

The Issue

Asong Pinoy or most commonly known as Aspins are often discriminated against by people. They are generally known as dogs that roam the streets and consume scraps, therefore earning another name "asong kalye," abbreviated as "askal." To the people’s eyes, they simply do not meet the criteria for being a “qualified” dog. Despite their reputations, aspins are actually loving, caring, and loyal dogs. Sadly, most Aspins are abandoned and left alone in the streets, just because people do not find them as valuable as other purebred dogs.

Aspins may not be as flashy compared to purebred dogs, but they are still considered one of them. These native dogs deserve as much love as the others, as they are just as valuable. This action might seem small to you, but to them, it means the world. Being included in the community after being neglected is a very comforting feeling. Let us not forget the famous quote, 'A dog is a man's best friend.' We must treasure their presence, no matter the breed, as they are the ones who will forever stay by our side. We want to let everyone know that a dog’s worth is not measured by its breed but by its heart and character. Join us in raising awareness for these dogs and helping them live a comfortable life. Together we can make a big difference in helping change the lives of these beautiful dogs.
