End Corruption and Delays in DRC Passport & Document System

The Issue

As proud young citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo, we are raising our voices to call for an urgent and transparent reform of our passport and documentation system.

Thousands of Congolese youth are being denied the right to travel, study, work, and represent our country on international platforms, not because we lack the will or qualifications, but because of widespread corruption, delays, and inaccessibility within our very own system.

We have been offered scholarships, fellowships, work placements, and global learning experiences that could empower us to return and build a stronger, more prosperous Congo, but we are consistently blocked by bureaucratic inefficiency and injustice.

We are calling on:

  • The Ministry of Home Affairs in Kinshasa
  • Relevant embassies and consular services
  • The Office of the President
  • International and national human rights observers

to take immediate action by:

  • Investigating and addressing corruption within the passport and identity documentation offices
  • Implementing fair, timely, and transparent processing systems for all Congolese citizens
  • Creating clear accountability mechanisms and citizen support channels

Our stories matter. Our future matters. We will no longer be silent

We call on all Congolese citizens, especially the youth, and allies around the world to stand with us by signing this petition. Together, we can ensure that our government serves the people, not the system.
