End Compulsory Cruelty in Schools

The Issue

Right now, vegan and cruelty-free students around the world are being forced to wear “leather” and wool products as compulsory school dress codes or uniform, including myself. Sheep in the wool industry are beaten, stabbed and stomped for profit. Within weeks of birth, lambs’ ears are hole-punched, their tails are chopped off, and the males are castrated without anesthetics. Shearers are usually paid by volume, not by the hour, which encourages fast work without regard for the welfare of the sheep.

All we ask for is that vegan students may be permitted to exercise their Freedom of Expression, Philosophical Belief, Creativity and Conscience, and be allowed to wear Cruelty-free clothing, (i.e cotton).

We need this Now in schools all around the world, including my own, to protect students’ Universal Human Rights and their own future when taking into consideration the damage wool farming does to the environment and its contribution to climate change.
