End Clearlake, CA's Unfair Use of Incorporation Rights

The Issue

The morning after they planned to kidnap me. I found my tape they had stolen for a week at my back door.

When they started popping the balance weights off my wheels to stop me from making it to court.

Throughout the time they would trespass on my property. This time was when I found my table. They have even stolen my SD card out of my security camera so I couldn’t identify them.

The trash they throw along MY fence line. This is construction garbage from working on the illegal in-law in the garage.

Found this empty pack of frozen pulled pork on my property. I don’t buy anything like this. They already poisoned and killed one of my dogs.

I am a resident of Clearlake, CA who has experienced firsthand the unjust practices of our local police force. I was falsely arrested and charged with serious felonies that I had to fight tooth and nail to prove my innocence against. Despite having clear evidence in my favor, the arresting officer refused to acknowledge it or consider it as part of my defense.

Now, I find myself dealing with another issue - undocumented individuals squatting on my neighbor's property have become physically violent towards me and have lied about me to the police. Instead of investigating these claims impartially, the police treat me as if I'm the problem and threaten me with arrest when I've done nothing illegal or wrong.

This is not an isolated incident but a reflection of systemic issues within our city's law enforcement - corruption, racism, personal bias are rampant. The city uses its status as an incorporated entity to shield itself from accountability for these injustices.

According to data from Mapping Police Violence (2019), California has one of the highest rates of police violence in America. This is not acceptable; we must demand better from those sworn to protect us.

We call upon state authorities and oversight bodies to investigate this issue thoroughly. We demand an end to Clearlake's misuse of its incorporation rights which allows such unfair practices by its law enforcement agencies unchecked.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all residents irrespective their race or social status; if you believe that no one should live in fear due their local law enforcement agency; if you believe that everyone deserves fair treatment under law regardless their circumstances.
