At a time when student safety is supposed to be a top priority, families at Lewis Middle School are still waiting for real accountability.
We know the district brought in Sha Talebi to lead the Office of Investigations, Compliance, and Accountability after years of leadership failure (Understaffed and underprepared: Behind San Diego Unified’s failures on Title IX, and how it’s been working to fix them). His job wasn’t easy—but it came with a promise: that harm would be taken seriously, and that cover-ups would no longer be the norm.
We’re calling on Mr. Talebi and his office to live up to that promise, starting with the serious safety issues at Lewis.
Why are families still in the dark?
Why are teachers who speak up pushed out?
What’s being done to protect students right now?
We believe in solutions. We believe in transparency. And we believe Mr. Talebi’s office can still be part of the change—if they choose to show up for our kids.
