I am a resident of Cavite City, Cavite, Philippines, and I witness an unsettling reality every day. Many pets are abandoned or discarded like trash simply because they do not belong to a certain breed. This discrimination is heartbreaking and unjust. Every pet deserves love and care regardless of their breed.

In our community, the favoritism towards certain breeds has led to an increase in animal abandonment. It's devastating to see these innocent creatures treated as disposable items when they fail to meet someone's aesthetic preferences or expectations about what a pet should be.

Pets are not accessories; they are living beings with feelings who deserve respect and kindness. The notion that some pets are less valuable due to their breed is fundamentally flawed and needs to change.

According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), thousands of stray cats and dogs roam our streets because they were abandoned by their owners due mostly to breed discrimination. This situation leads not only to suffering for these animals but also contributes significantly towards overpopulation issues in our city.

We need your help in changing this mindset prevalent in our society - that all pets, regardless of their breed or lack thereof, deserve equal treatment, love, respect, and care from us humans. Let us stand together against this cruel form of discrimination based on breeds.
