We, the undersigned, demand the immediate closure of MBR Acres and all associated facilities owned and operated by Marshall BioResources that breed and supply beagles and other animals for laboratory testing.

Right now, behind the locked doors of MBR Acres in Cambridgeshire, hundreds of beagles are living in sterile cages, never knowing sunlight, affection, or the safety of a loving home. These gentle, trusting dogs are bred for one purpose only: to be sold, experimented on, and killed.

This is not science—it is cruelty.

This is not progress—it is a stain on our collective humanity.

MBR Acres is part of a global network of animal breeding facilities run by Marshall BioResources, a U.S.-based company profiting off the suffering of thousands of animals across the world. While medical science continues to evolve, these facilities remain trapped in outdated and unreliable methods that harm animals and fail to translate to safe human outcomes.

We know better. We can do better.

Advances in non-animal research—including organ-on-chip technology, 3D tissue cultures, and AI-driven drug discovery—have proven that animal testing is not only inhumane but unnecessary.

We call for the following:

1. The permanent closure of MBR Acres and all Marshall BioResources animal breeding facilities supplying laboratories;
2. An immediate halt to the breeding of beagles and other companion animals for scientific experimentation;
3. Public and parliamentary support for transitioning the UK to cruelty-free research, with increased investment in humane and scientifically superior alternatives;
4. A full, transparent investigation into MBR Acres and other Marshall BioResources operations, including welfare standards and regulatory oversight.

Every name is a call to end this cycle of suffering.

Let us be the generation that says: no more. No more cages. No more screams. No more senseless deaths.

Shut down MBR Acres. Shut down all Marshall BioResources animal breeding facilities. End animal testing—because compassion and innovation can, and must, coexist.
