End Animals Pain and Suffering in Research laboratories

End Animals Pain and Suffering in Research laboratories
The Issue
Over 50 million animals are used in laboratories for research a year, though there could be more we wouldn’t know since only about 5% of those animals are covered by the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). The laws for the animals who are protected by the AWA in the laboratories are minimal, which only covers food, shelter, and water. So scientists are not prohibited to any experiments they conduct on animals; regardless of how much pain and stress the animal may go through. And results from the FDA shows that less than 10% of the results from the researches are safe for humans to use, so the other 90% is just a waste. Lastly, about $14.5 billion taxpayers dollars are being given to those laboratories to conduct the tests just for the results to be inaccurate. Though there is more animals go through, I hope this is just the beginning of seeing a change for our animals who cannot speak for themselves.
