I am a resident of Colorado, and the issue of animal testing is deeply personal to me. Every year, hundreds of animals die due to unnecessary and cruel testing procedures. These innocent creatures are subjected to painful experiments, all in the name of science or consumer safety.

According to the Humane Society International, around 100 million animals are killed in laboratory experiments worldwide each year for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing (Humane Society International). In our own state of Colorado, numerous facilities continue this practice despite growing public outcry.

It's time we take a stand against this cruelty. We must urge our lawmakers to enact stricter regulations on animal testing and promote alternatives such as in vitro methods or computer simulations which have been proven effective without causing harm to living beings (National Institute of Health).
