As someone deeply moved by the unfortunate situation of animals living in inappropriate and harmful conditions in zoos, I am calling for an end to their existence for the sake of animal welfare. Zoos, although presented as educational institutions, often lack in providing animals the level of care, freedom, and natural environment they truly need. Studies have indicated that confinement can lead to symptoms of depression and abnormal behavior in animals, a condition often referred to as "Zoochosis" (Source: PETA). Furthermore, according to World Animal Protection, less than 1% of the world's zoos are credited, implying that a huge majority don't meet basic welfare standards.

Through this petition, we are seeking the termination of zoos and emphasis on animal conservation through more ethical means such as wildlife sanctuaries and rehabilitation centers. Animals deserve to live in their natural habitats, free from the stress and harm of artificial confinement.
