If you are intending to go to buy a pony or ponies at auction, PLEASE make sure you can commit to any pony that you intend purchase and that you have suitable facilities ready. Make financial provision for the fact that you may need specialist help with handling (especially for the most traumatised), that colts will need to be gelded (some may need more complicated surgery for this), that adult mares may actually be pregnant even if not declared/obvious at the point of sale. Speak to rescues before the sales and don't assume you can just buy and then drop them off at a rescue. There is a "rehoming crisis" at the moment with a major animal welfare organisation reporting that animal intake is nearly double to that being rehomed.
