I am a resident of Agnaga, Romblon, Philippines and I believe that animals should be cared for not abused. This issue is personal to me as I have witnessed the maltreatment of animals in our community. It breaks my heart to see these innocent creatures suffer when they should be living freely and without harm.

Animal cruelty is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), there has been an alarming increase in animal abuse cases over the years. Animals are being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel treatment which goes against their basic rights.

Animals play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance. They deserve respect and protection just like us humans do. The Philippine Animal Welfare Act of 1998 (Republic Act No. 8485) explicitly states that it is unlawful for any person to torture any animal or neglect to provide adequate care, sustenance or shelter.

We need stricter enforcement of this law in Agnaga, Romblon, Philippines so we can put an end to animal cruelty once and for all.
