It's time to act and tear down this authoritarian surveillance state. We need strong, clear legislation to rip this bloom of authoritarianism out, root and stem. The proposed legislation should include complete bans for use of this technology by private companies like Lowe's and Home Depot, and by government at all levels whether it be city, state, or federal. A body of legislation to combat the rise of an authoritarian surveillance state is sorely needed to keep appropriate power in the hands of the American people. By educating our fellow citizens about the ramifications of unchecked surveillance, we can awaken those who are unaware of this terrifying future. This requires a concerted effort from community members, privacy advocates, and lawmakers.
