End Age Discrimination in Canada's Immigration Scoring System

End Age Discrimination in Canada's Immigration Scoring System
The Issue
As someone who has personally experienced the harsh implications of age stereotypes in the CRS system, I understand how its biases are harming Canada by losing potential migrants.
In the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)'s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), the total achievable score is 600 with a full 110 points designated for age - this is nearly 20% of the total score. The age scoring scheme is theoretically based on the research, "Which Immigration Selection Factors Best Predict the Earnings of Economic Principal Applicants?", made by IRCC and Statistics Canada. In the research they stated how important is the "Age of Landing" to a successful immigrant. Age of land, not biological age. However, in IRCC's scoring system, they are wrongfully using biological ages to evaluate people.
If someone came to Canada at the age of 35 and has been studying and working here for 10 years. In the CRS system, they won't get any age points for a 45-year of age, but the real Age of Landing of this person is 35. In the scoring system, the age of 35 should be awarded 77 points. The current CRS system is a brazen discrimination with no theoretical or statistical bases.
This petition calls on the Canadian government to reform the CRS, ending the absurd age-based scoring that dismissively equates aging with a decline in value.
Stand up against age discrimination. Call for fairness and equality in Canada's immigration system. Sign this petition and join the fight to change the CRS. Let us ensure that everyone, regardless of age, is given a fair chance to become a valuable part of the Canadian society.
