I am a parent, deeply hurt and distressed by the unjust actions of the legal system. My abuser holds primary custody of our child, he didn’t even take BIPP and anger management per the Family Code. Cps didn’t listen to my concerns and I had proof. My son’s father is using this power to harass me and cause immeasurable stress to my family. He sent me to the hospital Dec 2025, Jan and Feb 2026 for days. I told him I would tell the court if he doesn’t stop, he replied let’s go then. His wife, who calls our child derogatory names, held him back a grade ( he’s homeschooled) contributes to this toxic environment. When I turned to the courts for justice by filing an Interference with Child Custody and a Motion of Contempt, the response was shocking. Instead of fair treatment, the judge, apparently frustrated by my repeated attempts to seek justice, sanctioned me a hefty $3500 fine and signed his unauthorized changes into effect, not giving me time to file my objections. We had a motion to enter, he just signed it yet I had to have three for temporary orders. Despite my son’s father repeatedly violating court orders, I even missed Mother’s Day weekend 2023 he has faced no consequences, thanks to a system that seems blind to his wrongdoings.

This experience is a painful reminder of the consequences when those in positions of power, including judges and government officials, are protected by absolute immunity. This immunity allows them to act without accountability, often ignoring rules and protocols and leaving victims like myself and countless others without recourse.

Absolute immunity is a shield behind which injustice hides. That's why I am calling for the elimination of absolute immunity for government officials and workers, advocating instead for qualified immunity. Qualified immunity strikes a balance, protecting officials in their lawful duties while holding them accountable for misconduct.

It's time for change. We need transparency and accountability in our legal system to ensure that no individual is above the law and that all citizens receive fair treatment. By replacing absolute immunity with qualified immunity, we can begin to trust that our legal and government systems have our best interests at heart.
