Greater Lafayette Stop Flock Action Alert

Thank you for signing the petition to end the use of mass surveillance cameras in
Greater Lafayette. You’ll be glad to know that this non-partisan initiative is growing by leaps
and bounds in our community!
Are you able to do (a little) more? Here are three things you can do to assist our efforts:
1. Attend the public ALPR info session on the evening of Sept. 22
2. Speak up during an upcoming city council meeting
3. Share the petition with friends and neighbors and ask them to sign it

Attend the West Lafayette ALPR public info session, Tues. Sept. 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM
Hosted by the police, along with a Flock representative. Our attendance at this presentation
can demonstrate to elected officials how concerned we are about Flock surveillance.
Members of our local Stop Flock group will attend this meeting, sit as a group, and wear black
shirts to identify ourselves. Please join us if you can! 

Speak out during city council meetings: here’s how.
Opportunities for brief public comment occur at the end of both the Lafayette and West
Lafayette city council meetings. Both cities hold their meetings in the evening on the first
Monday of the month. Check the cities’ websites for more details on the meeting
schedule, and for rules on making public comments.

Finally, please forward the petition to friends and neighbors who may just now be learning
about A.I. mass surveillance. Every day seems to bring new revelations about the harms caused
by these systems--from police officers using the Flock footage for illegal purposes, to
widespread environmental damage caused by the data centers enabling A.I. surveillance, to the
Flock company using data in unapproved ways. Every time we turn around there
are more legal violations, and more unanswered questions.
