Re-count of the Ugandan election without rigging of votes

The Issue

For 35 years Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has held office in Uganda. During his time Uganda has seen violence suppressing objection to his presidency, censorship on freedom through barring the internet, and amendments to the constitution to extend his presidency. This will be the president’s sixth time running for office. He is now 76.

Though for many, Uganda under Museveni brought peace and development in infrastructure, for most the 35-year rule has indicated a lack of democracy and fraudulence in election results instilling little hope.

However, now in 2021, the hope of the Ugandan people has changed, as rival candidate, pop-star turned politician Bobi wine, has sought to win presidency and hopefully lead Uganda toward a brighter future of democracy and hope.

Unfortunately, this future has unsurprisingly been compromised, as censorship was reintroduced and Museveni once again took the lead in the election.

This petition demands:

-          A re-count of the electoral vote.

-          freedom from censorship by allowing internet access.

-          Honesty about suppressing the Ugandan people and their rights to democracy

Be the voice of the Ugandan people and sign, for people whose ability to communicate has been barred and fractured. Sign and prevent 40 years of dictatorship now.
