Encourage "Time Check" A Capella Group at Marist to Perform More Songs about LeBron James

The Issue

I'm part of the vibrant A Capella group at Marist University known as "Time Check." Our group deeply values diversity and uniqueness in our performances, and it's come to our attention that there's an quite an interest in creating more songs about the celebrated Lakers basketball player, LeBron James.

LeBron is not only a respected athlete, but also a civic activist and philanthropist. He has contributed greatly to our communities through his LeBron James Family Foundation, and has captured the hearts of many with his humility, hard work and dedication to progress - both on and off the court.

His journey resonates with us, as we too strive to excel in our craft while also making a difference in our community. In 2020, the Lakers, guided by LeBron, won the NBA Championship, sparking joy across Los Angeles and beyond (CNN). This achievement deserves to be celebrated in form of song and I believe we - Time Check - are well-placed to make that happen.

By incorporating LeBron-themed performances into our repertoire, we can pay tribute to an incredible figure in sports history, bring joy to our Lakers-loving peers, and provide a novel and engaging experience for our audience.

Sign the petition to encourage Time Check to celebrate LeBron James’ accomplishments through song. Together, we can honor a legend, enliven our performances, and add a meaningful layer to our shared university experience.

[Intro]
His name is Lebron James and he plays for LA
It would feel so good and make a big difference
If I could see him play
As I go to my living room, dunno what I'mma do
If I hear he ain't gon play
'Cause I made a bet or two that he's gonna shoot
Ten threes, get ten re's, and then the Lakers ain't gon lose

[Bridge]
And they got Luka Don, A. Reaves and then Lebron
The real Big 3
They gave up AD because they needed change
And you gots to say his name
His name is Lebron James

[Chorus]
I'm talking bout the man on the Lakers (Lebron)
I'm asking you to say his name (Lebron James)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at the sky and say his name

[Outro]
Le-Beron, Le-Beron
Lebron, Lebron
Le-Beron, Le-Beron
Lebron, Lebron
