The Issue

As a dedicated teacher, I've witnessed firsthand the growing challenges we encounter each day, as our jobs have become more demanding over the past decade. Despite our increased workload, our paychecks have not kept pace, and inflation continues to rise. This not only affects teachers but also impacts the quality of education students receive. Beyond compensation, our schools face numerous infrastructural needs that are vital for maintaining a conducive environment for both staff and students.

The proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year promises a much-needed improvement. It aims to address these financial disparities by allocating funds to meet essential requirements such as competitive pay, adequate classroom supplies, modernized technology, and facility upgrades. These enhancements are crucial for creating an environment where teachers can effectively educate and inspire, and where students have the necessary resources to learn and succeed.

Research consistently shows that investment in education significantly benefits everyone involved. Students with access to better resources and well-compensated teachers are more likely to perform well academically, ultimately leading to brighter futures. Additionally, well-funded schools contribute positively to their communities, fostering greater economic stability and growth.

The Board of Supervisors now has the opportunity to take a significant step toward improving our education system by approving this proposed budget. By doing so, they will be investing in the success and well-being of our students, educators, and the community as a whole. Let's come together to advocate for a brighter future by ensuring our schools receive the support they desperately need.

It is time to urge the Board of Supervisors to approve the proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year. Your voice matters, and with enough collective support, we can enact meaningful change in our education system. Please sign this petition to show your support for the dedicated teachers and students who rely on your advocacy.
