Encourage music venues in Sydney's inner-west to put on more "under 18" gigs.

The issue

Bands playing strictly 18+ venues and gigs is something that has always been of great frustration to all "under 18" music lovers. Around Sydney there are very few venues that a) support/book up-and-coming "under 18" bands and b) support "under 18" gig-goers. This, in turn affects the music industry because it means that the next generation of music journalists, artists, managers, producers etc can't experience live music and be encouraged and inspired to make it by watching others just like them.

This petition is to present to Sydney music venues (especially in the inner-west). It's to prove to them that there are heaps of young people in the area and beyond that desperately want to get out and see live music. It's to prove to them that there are young bands looking to gain experience by playing to local audiences. It all starts with a first step. If we get enough signatures we'll send this petition around to inner-west music venues, try to start a conversation and maybe even organise a few "under 18" events. We should support the next generation of musicians, music industry folks and audiences as much as we do the current.
