Encourage Bigjigs to expand Heritage Railway Collection
The Issue
My love for model trains runs deep, especially when it comes to the Heritage Railway Collection by Bigjigs. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the history and engineering marvels of trains, and now as an adult, collecting model trains is more than a hobby; it is a way to relive that sense of wonder. However, the selection of models in the Heritage Railway Collection feels incomplete. I believe expanding it to include more iconic models would not only bring joy to enthusiasts like me but also preserve the rich history and legacy of our railways.
Many of us would love to see models of the Union of South Africa, Sir Nigel Gresley, Bittern, Dominion of Canada, Duchess of Sutherland, City of Birmingham, and more preserved Pannier Tank Engines in Bigjigs' collection. Additionally, including more preserved P class tank engines, preserved Stanier Black 5s, Ivatt 2mt Tank Engines, Battle of Britain Pacifics, some West Country Pacifics, and War Department engines would be a massive hit among collectors and historians alike being Wooden Heritage Collection's British Railways, Great Western Railway, London Midland and Scottish Railway, London and North Eastern Railway, and Southern Railway coaches, Great Northern Railway Single No. 1, more London and North Eastern Railway Gresley A4 Pacifics, Union of South Africa No. 60009, Dominion of Canada No. 60010, Sir Nigel Gresley No. 4498, and Bittern No. 4464, more Great Western Railway 0-6-0 Pannier Tank Engines Numbers 1369, 1501, 3650, 3738, 4612, 5764, 5775, 5786, 6412, 6430, Ajax No. 6435, Numbers 7714, 7715, 7752, 7754, 7760, 9400, 9466, 9600, 9629, 9642, 9681, and 9682, British Railways Standard Class 5mt 4-6-0s like No. 73156, Camelot No. 73082, No. 73096, City of Peterborough No. 73050, and No. 73129, PR T1 4-4-4-4 Duplex, GNR J50 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Engine, Great Western Railway 14xx 0-4-2 Tank Engines No. 1420, 1442, Ashburton No. 1450, and No. 1466, more British Railway Class 37 Diesel Engines, Great Western Railway Hall Class 4-6-0s, Dumbleton Hall No. 4920, Hagley Hall No. 4930, Kinlet Hall No. 4936, Maindy Hall No. 4942, Pitchford Hall No. 4953, Rood Ashton Hall No. 4965, Wootton Hall No. 4979, Hinderton Hall No. 5900, Cogan Hall No. 5952, Bickmarsh Hall No. 5967, Olton Hall No. 5972, Raveningham Hall No. 6960, Owsden Hall No. 6984, Wightwick Hall No. 6989, Witherslack Hall No. 6990, Burton Agnes Hall No. 6998, Foremarke Hall No. 7903, and Willington Hall No. 7927, City of Truro No. 3440, South Eastern and Chatham Railway C Class No. 592, BR Class 33, BR Class 08, Southern Railway Q1 Class 0-6-0 No. C1, more Hunslet Austerity J94 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Engines, DRG Class E94, Great Northern Railway N2 Tank Engine No. 1744, BR Class 40, WD Austerity 2-8-0 Tender Engine No. 90733, WD Austerity 2-10-0 Tender Engines like Dame Vera Lynn No. 3672, Sturdee No. 601, Longmoor No. 73755, Numbers 73656, 73677, 73682, and 73659, South Eastern and Chatham Railway H Class 0-4-4 Tank Engine No. 263, West Country Class 4-6-2 engines and other Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 engines like Wadebridge No. 34007, Sidmouth No. 34010, Bodmin No. 34016, Taw Valley No. 34027, Boscastle No. 34039, Braunton No. 34046, Sir Winston Churchill No. 34051, Sir Keith Park No. 34053, Sir Fredrick Pile No. 34058, Tangmere No. 34067, Manston No. 34070, 257 Squadron No. 34072, 249 Squadron No. 34073, 92 Squadron No. 34081, City of Wells No. 34092, Hartland No. 34101, and Swanage No. 34105, other Stanier Black 5 Class 4-6-0s like George Stephenson No. 4767, Kenneth Aldcroft No. 4806, Sovereign No. 44871, Numbers 44901, 44932, 5000, 5025, RAF Biggin Hill No. 5110, 45163, The Sherwood Forester No. 5231, No. 45293, Alderman A.E. Expanding the collection could also open opportunities for themed sets that revolve around different historical periods or specific railways, allowing collectors to immerse themselves in educational and entertaining experiences.
For Bigjigs, the commitment to expand this collection would not only mean a boost in sales but also keep the community of model train enthusiasts thriving. Furthermore, it ensures that the memories and the magic of these iconic locomotives are preserved for future generations.
