The Issue

There are so many children who are getting murdered by those who have been convicted of abuse to a child. This is important to me because our children are our future. They at least deserve a chance in life. It's time to take a stand and protect them from those who have proven themselves dangerous.

In the United States, child abuse continues to be a harrowing issue. In 2020, there were over 618,000 victims of child abuse and neglect reported to child protective services, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Despite these alarming numbers, there are cases where abusers are able to regain custody of their victims or other children, putting innocent lives at risk.

The Emmanuel Law seeks to rectify this injustice. The proposed law would ensure that anyone convicted of child abuse or related offenses is permanently barred from regaining custody of any child. This would serve as a necessary deterrent and protection, shielding children from environments proven to be harmful.

Protecting our children isn’t just a matter of legal necessity; it’s our moral obligation. Statistics show that many child abuse cases, if properly monitored and prevented from escalating, can save lives. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention highlights that one in four children have experienced abuse or neglect at some point in their lives. It's devastating to imagine how many could have been spared if more stringent laws were in place.

Pushing for the Emmanuel Law would not only uphold justice but also pay homage to countless children whose voices we can no longer hear. It’s our duty to ensure that these tragedies are not ignored. With this law, we can fortify the legal frameworks that protect our children, prioritize their safety, and give them the secure future they deserve.

Join me in urging our lawmakers to pass the Emmanuel Law. Let’s protect our children by ensuring that those who have hurt them cannot do so again. Sign the petition today to stand up for the safety and wellbeing of our children.
