Today, we grieve over the loss of our beloved feline companion who was the victim of a hit and run incident, left alone and helpless on the road before meeting a tragic end in our arms.

We believe that cats, much like dogs, deserve the basic decency of attention in the aftermath of a road incident. 

Currently, under UK law (for instance) it is mandatory to report collisions with dogs but not with cats. This discrepancy is unjust and creates an environment where animal well-being is selectively respected. With over 10 million cats being cherished pets in UK homes (PDSA PAW Report), it is evident that these creatures are an essential part of our familial fabric and deserve equivalent protection law.

Hence, we plead for legislation that makes it mandatory to stop and report when there's a collision with a cat. This is not a matter of mere protocol but an appeal for basic empathy, respect, and dignity for all creatures, regardless of their species.
