With due respect, I, Vikas Swaroop Bairwan, a distressed citizen of India, am submitting this prayer before you for enacting a much-needed law in the interest of crores of elderly parents and children across the country, particularly in Uttar Pradesh.

The absence of an automatic mechanism for the equitable distribution of property often leads to disputes within families. In many cases, elderly parents face the stress of discerning how to fairly distribute their assets among their children, a task that becomes increasingly daunting as their mental capacities diminish with age. This not only disrupts family harmony but also leaves parents vulnerable to manipulation and undue influence.

Imagine the peace of mind every parent could experience knowing their hard-earned property will be equitably distributed among their children without the fear of potential conflict. An automatic law would ensure fairness and security in familial relationships. It would also alleviate the anxiety associated with succession planning, allowing parents to focus on enjoying their silver years without additional stress.

An efficient and fair legal framework for automatic property distribution can safeguard the rights of both parents and children. Such laws have been successfully established in various countries, ensuring seamless and conflict-free transitions of inheritance. For instance, countries like the United States have intestate succession laws that automatically manage the distribution of property when parents pass away without a will.

For this reform to be effective, the law must be inclusive, taking into account cultural variations and existing socio-legal structures in India. Consultations with legal experts, family advocacy groups, and community leaders will be pivotal in shaping this law to reflect the diversity and depth of Indian society.
