Greenhouse gases from our excessive burning of hydrocarbons are changing climate quickly and dangerously.  A carbon tax will use the market to diminish consumption by raising the prices of oil, coal and natural gas.  The tax revenues should be use to cut the unsustainable federal deficits the United States has been running for the past decade.
