The Issue

As residents of Bill’s Creek, we are deeply concerned about the impact of high-density housing development on our community. Our beautiful area is cherished not only for its serene environment but also for its relatively undisturbed natural resources. However, with the rapid construction of high-density housing, these resources are under threat.

One primary concern is the potential strain on our water availability. According to local reports, our water supply is already significantly impacted during peak seasons. Adding more high-density units will likely exacerbate this issue, leading to water shortages that could affect all residents, including families, seniors, and farmers relying on consistent water access for their livelihoods.

Furthermore, our infrastructure, particularly the road network, is not designed to support the increased traffic that such developments bring. The current roads are narrow and limited in capacity, and an influx of vehicles could lead to increased accidents and traffic congestion, putting our community members at risk and degrading their quality of life.

Moreover, the local wildlife that many of us cherish could lose their habitats due to land clearing. The increased noise and pollution would also detract from the peaceful character of Bill’s Creek, which many residents, like myself, value immensely.

We are calling on Rutherford County and North Carolina officials to enact a 12-month moratorium on any further development of high-density housing. This pause will provide necessary time to conduct environmental impact assessments, allow the community to engage in discussions about sustainable development, and explore alternatives that preserve the natural beauty and resources of our area while addressing the growing housing needs responsively.

Please support this important cause. Help us ensure a responsible approach to development that prioritizes the well-being and sustainability of Bill’s Creek. Sign this petition to demand a 12-month moratorium on high-density housing projects. Together, we can advocate for a future that respects both the environment and the community's needs.
