Enable AACPS National Honor Society Studnets to wear the NHS Stole at Graduation

Enable AACPS National Honor Society Studnets to wear the NHS Stole at Graduation
The Issue
As a proud member of the National Honor Society (NHS), I, along with my fellow members, have dedicated countless hours to tutoring and community service on top of maintaining high academic standards. It takes tremendous hard work, resilience, and ambition to achieve membership in this prestigious society. However, at the pinnacle of our high school careers – graduation – we find our efforts obscured, with no distinct recognition allowed.
Students nationwide earn a 3.5 or higher GPA to be inducted into the NHS. That's a significant achievement, one that cultivates essential skills and fosters leadership. Still, our current graduation ceremony provides no explicit recognition for this accomplishment. Our petition's purpose is to change this, seeking permission for AACPS NHS members to proudly wear their NHS stoles at graduation ceremonies.
Allowing NHS students to wear their stoles will not only honor their achievements but also inspire younger students to strive for academic excellence and community involvement. Recognizing NHS members at the graduation is a small gesture with a tremendous impact.
We believe that recognition feeds ambition, and ambition drives progress. It is time to acknowledge these deserving students prominently for the accolades they've earned. Help us bring change. Sign the petition today in support of allowing AACPS NHS students to display their achievements with pride at the graduation.
