Empower All Women: End The Pink Tax

Empower All Women: End The Pink Tax
The Issue
Hello!
We are a group of 6 women who are fighting to End the Pink Tax in Ohio. We are from Desales HS and would like to make a positive change in our state community.
What is our issue:
Our Issue is The Pink Tax. Let’s talk about what that is. We have a problem with the unjustifiable price difference between men and women’s products and the gender bias of prices that affect women and girls. Products like deodorant, shampoo and clothing are often priced higher than similar products marketed on men, even though the difference may only be the packaging, fragrance, or color.
On average, women pay around $2,381 more on items per year than men. Our goal is to make that difference $0 in the state of Ohio. In conclusion, The Pink Tax is unfair because it creates additional financial burdens on women and girls without any reason and it takes advantage of gendered marketing and societal expectations, leading to systemic inequality.
Who is impacted:
All women in the United States are affected by this extreme issue every single day. These minor price differences may seem small at first, but they add up over time. This is why it is crucial that we make a change now for the future women in Ohio.
