When people bring up your past, tell them "Jesus dropped the charges!" A high percentage of convicted felons- while being incarcerated, get their g.e.d's,  high school diploma's and all sorts of training. ie: contruction, plumbing, masonry, trucking, computer technology, welding, electrician, business, veterinary licences, drug & alcohol counceling, psychology, ect.  Upon their release they have set great goals to better themselves, with high hopes of succeeding in "getting a good job" giving them a feeling of self-worth & a sense of responsibility by supporting themselves and their loved ones without having to go back out and commit crimes to make ends meet just to survive. It also gives them a greater feeling of self achievement and an overall sense of self worth instead of the feeling of being a failure. I believe there should be a law banning the discrimination on felons in the work force .  Unfortunately, most get turned down for a job in which after too many refusals; they end up finding other ways to survive resulting in reincarceration. We have all paid for our mistakes. And as it is written in the Bible: No one has a right to judge! Only God! And God gives everyone a second chance!  If one is truely sorry. -  By providing felons jobs, this would promote safer streets and lower crime rates in the community. If they were just given a second chance- "LET THEM PROVE THEMSELVES"  Then we all can rest. Stop worrying about their background. And give convicted felons a chance!  You're not only giving to them; you're giving back to our  communities, our families and theirs by making our neighborhoods, our streets and our cities a safer, happier place to live. Which also aids in them being able to provide for their families, by setting better examples, teaching them the concept of responsibility, stability, trust, self respect, self value, and by keeping family together.

What would jesus do?"
