Free Nasrin Sotoudeh !

Nasrin Sotoudeh, an Iranian lawyer and human rights defender, has been sentenced to 33 years of prison and 148 lashes
She has received the 2012 Sakharov prize for freedom of thought.
Freed in 2013 after several years of imprisonment, she was again incarcerated on 13 June, 2018 for standing publicly against the wearing of the veil and advocating for one of her clients who has removed her scarf in public
The National Bar Council is very concerned about this situation and is convinced that the new conviction of Maître Nasrin Sotoudeh is linked to her activities alone which are a matter solely of her professional practice.
With the International Observatory for Lawyers in Danger support, we denounce the unworthy punishment to which she has been condemned and seize Emmanuel Macron, president of the Republic to call for her release.
