To whom it may concern:

 I live in a relatively peaceful family neighborhood that is across from an Monlux K-5 Elementary School. We have speed bumps on Bellaire Ave north of the school but unfortunately not directly in front of the school where parents drop off and pick up their children and I believe this is where it matters the most. It is chaos every morning and afternoon with hundreds of cars trying to get in front of the school. This is a very high traffic street for neighbors, parents and local drivers.

It is almost every day that I notice a driver get frustrated from the congestion, stomps on their gas, swerves to the other lane to pass a car. Parents are not only stopping to pick up their children but walking across the street to their parked cars. There are no signs or speed bumps to ensure that they are not going over the legal school speed limit.

We already have a bicycle memorial at the corner of Bellaire and Oxnard and I do not want to see another one anytime soon. This is not only for the safety of the kids but the neighbors and drivers that use this road daily.  Please sign this petition to protect the safety of our community and it’s future.
