Hello!

Recently, the city of Duluth has discussed the option of demolishing the Pocket Park skatepark located in western downtown Duluth. As of the summer, a group of skaters have been adding onto the park with their own funding and the funding of the community of skaters from the locations of Minneapolis through out the North Shore. The skaters are repairing the park to grasp it’s full potential as a skatepark as it’s had no maintenance by the city in a long time.

The importance of this skatepark is huge due to the fact that Duluth has a lack of skateparks in general. This skatepark is considered a place of safety and growth for skaters of all ages. Throughout the process of repairing the park, it brought the community together and new friendships were made. The park is utilized as a place of outdoor recreation to stay active. This park means a lot to many many people. A park like this must stay and be preserved as a safe space for members of the Minnesota skate community to enjoy and to benefit from for years to come.

Please sign to save the beautiful Pocket Park!
