Emergency Fuel Relief for Commercial Drivers

Emergency Fuel Relief for Commercial Drivers
Проблема
Fuel prices are crushing America’s working drivers and small transportation businesses.
Since the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, gasoline and diesel prices have surged again, leaving commercial drivers, owner-operators, cargo van operators, and small trucking families struggling to survive financially.
Many of us are not large corporations. We are ordinary working Americans trying to support our families, pay our mortgages, vehicle loans, insurance, and basic living expenses while keeping goods moving across the country.
For some families, fuel costs have increased by thousands of dollars every month.
Our own family now spends nearly $3,000 more per month on fuel alone for our commercial vehicles. That amount equals a mortgage payment or a vehicle loan for many Americans. We are falling behind on bills despite working full time.
Commercial drivers cannot simply stop driving:
Deliveries must continue
Freight must move
Businesses depend on transportation
Communities depend on supply chains
But independent drivers and small transportation businesses are being financially crushed by fuel price spikes that are completely outside of our control.
At the same time, many freight brokers and dispatching companies continue lowering rates or refusing to properly adjust fuel surcharges despite rising gasoline and diesel costs. Independent drivers are being forced to work for reduced profits while carrying the full burden of increased fuel expenses.
This unfair pricing system is devaluing the labor of commercial drivers and pushing many hardworking families toward financial collapse.
We respectfully ask federal and state leaders to take immediate action and consider:
Temporary suspension or reduction of fuel taxes
Emergency fuel relief for commercial drivers
Tax credits for owner-operators and small transportation businesses
Fuel assistance programs during international crises
Protection for independent contractors and small carriers
Fair fuel surcharge standards in freight pricing
Greater transparency in broker and dispatch pricing practices
Measures to stabilize fuel prices during periods of global instability
America depends on truck drivers, cargo vans, and transportation workers every single day. Working families should not be pushed into financial collapse simply because of uncontrollable fuel price increases.
We ask our leaders to support the people who keep America moving.
Sign this petition to stand with commercial drivers, working families, and small transportation businesses across the United States.
