327 Broad Street Is Worth the Work

327 Broad Street Is Worth the Work
The Issue
Make your voice heard! Your signature helps us restore 327 Broad Street. The building's original design will add to Elyria’s beautiful and historic streetscape. That will help liven our downtown.
Sign to support the project to restore the building at 327 Broad Street. Tell our elected officials the best option is the building's reuse. We cannot risk losing another historic building to demolition at taxpayer expense.
The building opened in 1921 as the Lewis Mercantile Company Building. Most Elyria residents remember shopping in it as JC Penney. The current owners, Shane Furniture, are working with us to see this project begin for better times in Elyria.
327 Broad Group is a group of citizens leading the project to make the building safe, restore the original façade, and prepare the space for adaptive reuse. Renovation features the development of modern commercial space and residential apartments.
We plan to use historic tax credits and other community development funds to fund this project. Save this building from the wrecking ball. 327 Broad Street is worth the work. The city of Elyria is destined for greater things.
