Brett Brown was hired as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers on August 14th, 2013. Throughout the first several years of his coaching, the main focus of the organization was rebuilding and the development of their young players. Over the course of these seasons, Brown was sufficient in fulfilling these focuses and goals. However, throughout both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 NBA seasons, the Sixers have had a fully developed roster ready to compete and try to win. In these conditions, Brett Brown has been a liability for the organization and their triumphant aspirations. Due to their immensely talented lineups in the last two seasons, the Sixers have in fact seen a substantial amount of success. This is despite their coaching liability, who has limited their success. This limitation is specifically prevalent in games that conclude in close endings, specifically against opposing teams with proficient head coaches. It has gotten to the point where the ultimate franchise goal of winning an NBA championship has become unrealistic due to their coaching liability. Brett Brown has served his purpose as the coach of the 76ers. However, it is time now for them to move on to a coach capable of winning.
