The local people and businesses that frequent Cowey Sale were promised a new Cafe and Toilet Facilities as part of the multi million pound Walton Bridge construction project to be completed Summer 2014.

The beautiful new bridge has been completed and looks stunning however the riverside amenities which were to include new Cafe and Toilet Block are still to be completed and the landscaped areas are detiorating due to lack of maintainence. We understand this is due to various issues with contractors resulting in the new building leaking, amongst other structural issues and being deemed unsafe to open. Temporary toilet facilities were installed by the council last year however they were removed on 17th March 2015, leaving people with no toilet or baby changing facilities whatsoever. This has clearly affected the cafe and boat trip business that operate from Cowey Sale and more importantly left the people who do still visit the area without any facilities. 

We ask you to sign this petition to show the council that they need to take prompt action and at the very least replace the temporary toilet facilities at Cowey Sale before Summer arrives and people are caught short. Ideally they will take legal action with the contractors who were responsible for the project to effect the projects swift completion....
