The original farm pond and surrounding retention ponds, which are habitat to a large variety of wildlife and vegetation, are being destroyed. These aquatic areas are being drained, dug up, and filled with gravel. Why can't they remain water? As the work is being done, these animals are not being relocated. The bulldozers plow threw without consideration of the safety of the frogs, turtles, and fish who cannot flee easily. And they pay no regard for the other mammals and birds (including a family of Blue Heron) that have been established here for many years. We have reached out to the developer many times over the past few years to find a solution to saving these ponds, but we are met with our questions being deflected.
