Dear friends and neighbors,
We're writing to let you know that the final vote on 222 Church Road is this Wednesday, March 15, at 7:30 pm. The board of commissioners will vote on a resolution granting "conditional final approval" to the development. Here is the Zoom link for Wednesday's meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84876384220?pwd=ZGRIRytRaFFJMXhtQ1FwbzFCK2JsQT09
This is our last chance to voice our deep concerns about this development—and the way the approval process has been handled. It's our last chance to let our commissioners know that there is continued, widespread opposition throughout the township.
The fourth and final review of the plans by the township's engineer was issued on February 24. It continues to point out numerous major problems, including missing stormwater calculations and the absence of major required permits and approvals. Even at this late stage, the plans still do not comply with the SALDO (Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance). You can find the final engineering review letter here: https://www.cheltenhamtownship.org/files/documents/222ChurchGannettFlemingReview41740013433030123PM.pdf
Commissioners Irv Brockington and Ann Rappoport have stood up for the many Cheltenham citizens opposed to this development. They have recognized their constituents' concerns and taken seriously the flooding and environmental damage it will create. We should expect all of our commissioners to represent the communities they serve. 5 of the 7 wards have elections for commissioner this fall. The primaries are on May 16—just two months from now.
It is essential that we show up for this final vote on Wednesday. Please speak up if you can—even briefly. This is our last chance to ask questions and be heard. Please also share this message with as many friends and neighbors as possible. And you can email the commissioners here before Wednesday to remind them of your opposition to the plan: Commissioners@cheltenhampa.gov
Onward and with gratitude,
Save 222 Church
