The EGUSD sent out a news to its 62,866 students about spring break being moved to March 9 - March 13, 2020 from April 6- April 10, 2020 because of the media viral, Corona Virus, or COVID-19. EGUSD can not move a date that has been on calendar for the entire school year, especially in such short notice. Families and students work hard in school, as well as outside school, to plan special events near and far. EGUSD's students and workforce will not stand to cancel and waste, possibly, months of planning. 

Possible solutions include:

* Adding 5 days to the end of the school year.

* Not cancelling school for a virus that has gone viral online and not in the district.
