City of Kanoka: Eliminate your breed “ban” and let Tator come home

The Issue

An anonymous complaint was all it took for my friend Tim and his kids to lose their American Bully, Tator. City officials claimed the breed isn’t allowed in the city limits, ordering Tim to to take Tator outside the city.

Tator has never shown any signs of aggression. He’s never bitten a person or another animal. He’s never attempted to bite a person or another animal. Tim attended a city council meeting to plead Tator’s case, letting them know that Tator is leashed at all times when he is outside of the family home. But none of these details matter when breed discrimination is at play. Tim had no choice but to foster Tator with his dad.

Thankfully, there is legislation currently pending in the Missouri State Legislature to address breed bans. HB 1811, if it passes and is signed into law, will overturn all municipal breed-specific bans across the state.

But Tator and his loving family cannot wait for the State legislature to take action. Tator deserves to return to the people who love him right away. Tim is going through a tough divorce. And the kids rely on Tator’s presence and kisses to help them through this challenging time for their family.

Please sign this petition to have the city of Kanoka to end their unfair ban of American Bullies like Tator.
