Eliminate Yonder Pouches from Schools for Improved Communication

The Issue

I am a student burdened by the imposition of Yonder Pouches in our school system. Every time I have a pressing need to reach my family, I find myself restricted. My attempts to connect with my parents are thwarted by the institution's enforcement of Yonder Pouches, designed to keep us detached from our cellphones.

Abiding by this system is not only inconvenient, but it also infringes upon our basic right to communication, especially in emergency situations. Echoing the sentiment of many other students and parents, I believe the school should review their policies to cater to our needs better.

Yonder Pouches, originally designed to minimize distractions in the classroom, have unfortunately done more harm than good. According to a study by the National Education Policy Center, when students' access to cellphones is restricted, it can increase stress and anxiety levels, potentially impacting their academic performance (NEPC, 2020).

We understand the original intent of introducing Yonder Pouches, but it is vital to ensure that this does not come at the expense of our well-being and accessibility. We urge our schools to reevaluate this strict policy and work towards a solution that respects our rights and needs as students.

Please sign this petition to make our voices heard and to champion better communication practices in our schools.
