The Issue

I am a resident of our beloved mobile home community and the proud owner of a beautiful Pit Bull mix. Recently, my heart was shattered when I was told that I would have to remove my dog from our home due to the community's policies on breed and weight restrictions. Many of us, including myself, choose pets based on their character and not their breed or size. These breed-specific legislations and weight limitations create an environment of discrimination, as they are based on misconceived ideas about certain breeds. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, breed-specific policies do not necessarily enhance public safety, nor reduce dog bite incidents. Rather, they divert resources from more effective measures, such as licensing and leash laws. It's time we challenged these unfair policies in our own community. Sign the petition today and stand up against dog breed and weight discrimination in our mobile home community. We must champion for the rights of our canine friends to live freely, without restrictions based on their breed or size.
