Once again, thank you for taking the time to share and sign this petition in support of repealing the tampon tax in North Carolina. Each one of you is making a difference by signing.
Today I had my meeting with Representative Ball, and it went very well! Since we are both individuals that are advocating for the same thing, the conversation was very engaging. Honestly, I do not think there was a moment of silence between the two of us since there was so much we discussed from gender inequality to market price increase + poverty level. Long story short, she agreed to work with me to see what can be done in NC, whether that be starting small and building over time or finding options to better help schools in lower socioeconomic areas.
I am excited to see where this goes! Next, I will be speaking with Rep. Dahle. The goal is to get as many people on board as possible to support writing a bill. I've reached out to both Republican and Democratic representatives and tried not to keep a focus only on women.
If you or someone else is interested in seeing something done in your area, reach out to your state representatives. Although they are super busy people, they will take into account what you have to say.
