It is 2020, yet menstrual products are still considered a luxury item in the state of North Carolina. In the past year, we have seen a push to eliminate the sales tax on menstrual products across the U.S., but surprisingly, there has not been any legislation written in support of eliminating tampon tax in North Carolina. Organizations like PERIOD and Period Equity are not only fighting to provide and support individuals in need of these products, but also raise awareness surrounding the issue. Without organizations like PERIOD and Period Equity, these products would not be within reach, and these individuals would continue to go without. 

FACT- Over 51% of North Carolina identifies as female, which means a little over half of our state's population menstruates.

Necessities should no longer be seen as luxury items. Please show your support for the elimination of tampon tax in North Carolina by signing this petition.
