Eliminate reclassing in school sports programs

I remember the day our team stepped onto the field full of hope and determination, ready to give it our all. We played our hearts out, but faced an insurmountable challenge – a significantly older and more experienced player who had reclassed. We got wiped out, and it felt like all our hard work meant nothing. How can this be fair? It's time we stand up for fair play and change the rules.
Reclassing, the practice of athletes repeating a grade to gain a developmental or competitive advantage, has increasingly become a problem in school sports, especially in football. This unfair advantage not only skews competition but also undermines the spirit of youth sports, which should be about equal opportunity, teamwork, and fair competition.
Fact: Athletes who reclass typically gain an age, size, and maturity advantage over their peers, which drastically affects the level playing field essential for school athletics.
