Eliminate Animal Poaching in Countries Engaging in Wild Animal Killings

The Issue

I am a student who deeply opposes animal cruelty. On a personal level, this topic hits close to home as I have been learning and researching about it for a school project. What I discovered was deeply disturbing. It is estimated that between 20,000 and 30,000 African elephants are killed every year for their ivory, and that's just one species (SOURCE: World Elephant Day). This endangers our ecosystem and rids our earth of its precious biodiversity.

Animal poaching not only affects the animals, but also triggers ripple effects on local communities and economies. With the eradication of wildlife, tourism, which a lot of these countries heavily rely on, is also expected to drastically reduce.

This is why we stand today, urging for an immediate cessation of animal poaching in countries where animals are being wiped out. Governments, international organizations, and stakeholders of these countries must come together to set wildlife protection laws and bolster enforcement for a lasting solution to this terrible problem.

The future of our earth, its wildlife and our children depends on our commitment to reverse these wrongdoings. Let our voices be heard and let's be the change we seek.
