As a resident of Henrico, VA, I am deeply concerned about the impact of parking fees on our community. These costs are not only a financial burden for us and our guests but also discourage social interaction which can lead to feelings of isolation and depression. In these challenging times when we are already grappling with the effects of a recession, this additional burden is simply untenable.

Moreover, it's important to note that parking fees can disproportionately affect lower-income households who may struggle to afford these extra costs. According to the American Community Survey (ACS), 11% of households in Henrico County live below poverty level - an indication that many residents could be significantly impacted by these fees.

We believe that removing parking fees will foster stronger community ties and alleviate some financial stress during this difficult economic period. Therefore, we call upon the UDR corporation to eliminate all parking-related charges for residents and their guests.
