Asking Elgin Police Chief Ana Lalley to condemn police brutality

Asking Elgin Police Chief Ana Lalley to condemn police brutality
The Issue
I was emotionally touched by a Facebook Live post of a local Boys & Girls Club alumnus (and former Youth of the Year winner) talking about the recent cases of police brutality and other gun related murders of Black men in our country. To be a young person of color in our country must be full of fear to say the least. CLICK HERE to see that livestream video.
Then I saw this Boys & Girls Club CEO in Madison, WI who decided to be a leader. He stood up and called on all of the local police chiefs to condemn police brutality. And guess what? Those police chiefs responded and condemned the actions taken by those Minneapolis police officers. Can't believe it? I know, but CLICK HERE for the proof.
Of course, when you think about it for one second, does anyone stand in favor of police brutality and officer-involved shootings?
Which got me thinking.
I think it would be a great thing if the police chief in my hometown of Elgin, IL joined her Dane County peers in condemning police brutality. While it wouldn't solve the problem, it might be a nice baby step towards assuring parents that our chief of police wants to work towards improving the department's relationship with the community she serves.
