The Elf on the Shelf has become a Christmas staple in homes across America and beyond. Unfortunately, as it stands, there is currently no African-American Elf on the Shelf. There are various shades of Elves, but none with dark brown skin and curly hair. In a world in which African-Americans are still greatly underrepresented in mainstream media, African-American children do not often have the opportunity to embrace characters who Share their skin color and hair texture.  Please sign this petition to help encourage the team at elfontheshelf.com to expand their current portfolio of Elves to include an African-American Elf.
